After a 12 hour flight from London Heathrow to Sao Paolo Brazil, we cleared passport control, collected all of our baggage (which had all arrived, thankfully), then hopped on a little Lear jet to Florianopolis which was one hour away. On arrival our luggage went by road, while we went in a Helicopter taxi to our hotel, Ponta dos Ganchos, which is on the mainland of Brazil just north of Santa Catarina island.
Glorious sunny weather on arrival, and balmy temperatures. We are out on a boat tomorrow to retrace the first arrival of Commodore Anson and his fleet from Madiera and his arrival in South America.
