Muratie wine estate is one of the oldest wineries in the Stellenbosch winelands with 42 hectares of vines. We were invited into the historic Melck family house for lunch and to learn more about the family’s eight generations of winemakers. A very nice Chenin Blanc to start, followed by a well rounded Cabernet Sauvignon (or Cab Sav as the Aussies say it), and finished off with thimbleful of sweet Muscat. The food was pretty good too.
